Are you a fan of Barbeque dishes? If you are; you might love Tandoori dishes which are in fact more delicious than the grilled ones. We took a survey over one of the Best Indian Restaurants in Berlin and found out tandoori dishes that are available to eat:
Paneer Pudina
This is a Punjabi cuisine; it is full of rustic flavor and is cooked in a tandoor (a custom oven made out of clay). The main ingredients that make this an awed dish are mixed vegetables; yogurt, cream; coriander leaves and butter. It is best served with basmati rice and a mint sauce.
Paneer Tikka
This recipe is first marinated for 24 hours in a batter of yogurt and butter mixed with 21 different Indian spices; this add richness into the texture, flavor and aroma of the tikkas. It is served fresh by grilling it in a Tandoori and serving it hot with onions and peppers bridging the gaps of meat.
Lamb Tikka
If you love eating lamb meat; this dish can be delicious. It is fried in a yogurt sauce (spiced with Indian spices); the paprika, onion and ginger tops up the flavor while grilling it in a tandoor gives it a smoky flavor. This dish is also served with basmati rice or can be eaten with tandoori chapatti.
Chicken Tandoori
Chicken lovers will love this baked chicken pieces (mostly thighs). These tendered chicken pieces are marinated in a hot spicy yogurt and then baked into the traditional tandoor which adds up a smoky taste. In my opinion; a better choice over barbeque.
Chicken Tikka
Same goes with this dish; except that it is grilled not baked. This dish is more juicy and gravy than chicken tandoori (which is a dry dish). It is also prepared in a spicy yogurt sauce with peppers and onions complementing the dish. It can be served with rice and chapatti or nan.
Fish Tikka
The ingredients of this dish are almost same as the chicken tikka that we just discussed. However; the staple ingredient is changed. Instead of chicken; Fish is served which is grilled and prepared in the yogurt sauce; peppercorns and onions are grilled too and make this dish mouthwatering for people who just love seafood.
Goa Mix
This dish is widely eaten in the heart of Goa; a vocational heaven for people who live in India. Goa mix is a mixture of Chicken Tikka; Lamb Tikka and Chicken Tandoori that are grilled as same as these dishes are prepared i.e. in a Tandoor (oven). Best served alone; with rice or chapatti.
Duck Tikka
Tikka is a special recipe that uses yogurt which is spiced with different spices of India and that yogurt is marinated with the desired meat. In this case; ducks are marinated into a yogurt sauce (spiced yogurt) and then grilled in a Tandoor that is just so much soft and awesome to eat.
Scampi Tikka
The Scampi is grilled when it is marinated into the hot spiced yogurt and then served best with the basmati rice. I have never tasted this dish but I have heard that it tastes good in one of the Besten Indischen Restaurants in Berlin.
Despite the fact that we live in a Western society; there should be any shame in experiencing different food cuisines that are just mind blowing and mouthwatering. Be sure to try them out!
