Indian cuisine is now becoming a part of restaurants because of its huge demand by food lovers. In 2009, Indian dishes got big response from Europe because they were tastier and healthier than the dishes delivered in Europe. To become a global cuisine, a local, regional or national cuisine would have to spread all over the world, serving itself globally. As almost all the spices are traded from India. Indian cuisines are also favored all across the world because they are healthier and have a mouthwatering effect on anybody who tastes it and love spices. Indian spices are widely known as the secret behind such tasty flavors that are introduced in Indian dishes almost every time. Indian cuisine is served at Europe and Asia and is starting to develop its root in America as well.
History of Indian Cuisine:
Almost around 5000 years ago, Indian cuisine reflected itself over different sub continents. Trade with British influenced the spreading of this cultural cuisine even more. Indian cuisines are widely known for its religious and cultural values. Because behind every Indian recipe, there is a myth waiting to be told.
Indian dishes mainly consisted of vegetables, fruits, honey, dairy products, grains and sometimes fish and meat. Staple foods they are eaten today in India include mostly of lentils and wheat flour. Sometimes pearl millet is also considered in some healthier and balanced diet dishes. During the middle ages, Indian cuisine got mixed up with Central Asian cuisines because of the emergence of Mughals that conquered India. Mughlai cuisine came into existence with its main spice as saffron. In some of the special dishes, pulses like kidney beans or black eyed eyes, chickpeas are used to better provide the nutrients and used as appetizers commonly.
Regional Cuisines of India:
Regional cuisines play a vital role in Indian cuisines for example, if you are looking for sea food then you will find that variety in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. If you have eaten a high spiced dish with rice as its staple food then you have tasted Andhra Pradesh cuisine as they are known for heavy use of spices. Arunachal Pradesh also uses rice as its staple food but along with fish, meat and vegetables mostly unlike Andhra Pradesh which consider lentils and pulses over meat. You have tasted Paratha and now you want to know from where did it come from exactly? That breakfast dish is known to be from Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and if you love unique mixed dishes then you will love Dehli dishes quite often as they are the mixtures of regional dishes of India including Mughlai cuisines.
